7 Years Later: A Look Back At Drake's 'Nothing Was The Same.'

‘Nothing Was The Same’ Revisited In Reverse

Unsurprisingly, Drake’s fans have not forgotten about this important day in history.

Seven years ago today, Drake released his third studio album, Nothing Was The Same. (Sept. 24), Seven years later and it’s generally regarded as one of his top two albums, constantly battling Take Care for that prestigious number one spot.

Back in 2013, Champagne Papi spoke with Billboard regarding the project. During their conversation, Drake admitted that he sought to make music that makes people feel good. “There’s a lot less sort of ambient ballad moments on this album where I’m searching or longing for something,” Drake said at the time. “That sentiment is gone. Now I’m just kind of like, ‘You know, I’m 26, I don’t know what the f--k else I could be doing better than this. I feel incredible about how I’m able to support my family and friends and how supportive my family and friends have been of me.’”
