NBA Lakers star LeBron James has teased the possibility of releasing an album.
LeBron James wants to [produce a rap album], but he doesn't want to rap on it.
LeBron’s status in hip-hop is undisputed – with the athlete labelled a “hip-hop historian” and many rappers such as Drake, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar and more using James as a focus group for their unreleased music. His 2019 previous work A&R for 2 Chainz’ Rap or Go to the League album and he has also tried his hand on the mic too – his freestyle over Jay-Z and Rick Ross’ “fuckwithmeuknowigotit.”
However, that James is any good at it. The way he messed up lyrics from a song by 6LACK led to the rapper cracking jokes about it on Twitter – to the extent that he received his most likes ever on a post. He may have a chance to redeem himself soon, announcing on Twitter that he plans to release a rap album.
James took to all social media to post this message:
In his tweet, on Thursday (Feb. 18) LeBron said, “My love for music is INSANE!!! I think I’m going to do a album. Oh no I won’t be rapping or anything like that. I’m not crazy, I know what I’m great at, but I tell you one thing I do have. So many friends that can. Thinking out loud.”
