The Brooklyn-bred MC revealed that his forthcoming album “is complete” while sharing words of support to frequent collaborator DJ Kay Slay.
Busta Rhymes New Album Is Finished
Busta Rhymes has now completed his eleventh musical project.
On Monday morning (January 10), Busta Rhymes posted a video on his Instagram account showing support to his friend and collaborator DJ Kay Slay. In the post, Busta also came through with new album update and previewed new music produced by Khrysis and name-dropped Dr. Dre and DJ Kay Slay in his lyrics.
“New Album Done,” he wrote. “@djkayslay you on my mind while I’m recording King. Keep Fighting!! We need you and we got too much shit left to do.. Thank you @khrysis_ #SOULCOUNCIL.”
It has been just over a year since Busta Rhymes released his last album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God in 2020 after an eight-year wait, with features coming from Kendrick Lamar, Q-Tip, Mary J. Blige, Rick Ross, Rakim, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and more.
Busta Rhymes ended 2021 with a guest verse on Dr. Dre’s “ETA,” which also featured Snoop Dogg and Anderson .Paak. Dre has been expected to appear on last year’s E.L.E. 2, although none of his contributions made the final album. It is possible that some of this work could appear on the forthcoming project.
