Damon Dash crowns Kanye West ‘the new Michael Jackson’
During a recent interview with The Jasmine Brand, the Hip-Hop mogul and Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash talked about Ye’s cultural impact and fame in the music industry.
“I was the guy who always ran around with a camera ’cause I knew that these moments were priceless, it was just a matter of when it was time,” he said. “So, I was glad that they actually took that advice and did that, or at least followed the example. I got a lotta footage, but it’s just the time, it’s always about the times. I think this is the right time for that.”
Dame Dash then referred to Kanye West as “our new Michael Jackson” and added, “Whether that’s negative or positive, that’s just what it is … every move he makes, everybody’s paying attention to … he triggers the world.”
In addition to new Michael Jackson comments by Dame Dash referred to Kanye West's, he also mentioned that Kanye is a free man. “What you are looking at when you see Kanye is a free man.... Free to say what he want when he want and everyone has to tolerate it,” Dash tells the Jasmine Brand founder.
