Damian Lillard addresses Trail Blazers departure with ‘Farewell’ song: ‘I leave at peace’
Lillard’s shock move to the Bucks, bringing an end to his 11-year chapter with the Portland Trail Blazers.
The former Trail Blazers released a nearly three-minute track under his stage name, Dame D.O.L.L.A., just hours after news of his trade to Milwaukee broke Wednesday (September 27), afternoon.
“I’ll continue leaving trails but won’t be for the Blazers/To the fans man, I love you, it’s unconditional/Reasons for me leaving the city’s nothing typical/So it’s imperative not to believe the narrative/Just know that what I left is better than what I inherited/I leave at peace ’cause I know in the end that this is business/Hope you remember all the things you got to sit and witness,” Dame D.O.L.L.A. raps on new song “Farewell.”

Lillard was traded to the Bucks in a blockbuster three-team deal that ended his 11-year run in Portland, which drafted him with the No. 6 pick in 2012.
The NBA veteran acknowledged the trade in a post on X, formerly Twitter, promising to address Trail Blazers fans and the city of Portland.
“The casuals won’t be addressed but the trailblazers fans and city of Portland that I love truly will be … and they will be addressed truthfully,” he wrote. “Stay tuned. Excited for my next chapter! @Bucks.”
