Dave Chappelle Reacts To Paul Mooney’s Shocking Death
Iconic comedian Paul Mooney has died at 79 years old.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, his rep, Cassandra Williams, said he passed away at 5:30 a.m. PST on Wednesday (May 19) at his home in Oakland, California.
In response to the unfortunate news of Paul Mooney's passing. TMZ caught up with Dave Chappelle today to share his reaction: Chappelle told TMZ of the loss. “I want to shout out every comedian on Earth, the best who ever did it, paved the way today, his legacy will live forever.
He did everything from Richard Pryor Show to Chappelle’s Show. He’s one of the first Black people ever in the Writers Guild.
“Paul Mooney will be sorely missed and widely remembered.. one of the greatest comedian ever” Chappelle said.
Throughout his career, Mooney acted in films The Buddy Holly Story and Bamboozled, worked alongside Eddie Murphy and wrote some of Richard Pryor’s material. He is also known for his work on “Chappelle’s Show,” where he initially appeared on sketches and later took on the recurring role of Negrodamus, the Black version of Nostradumus.
