The Toronto native responds to ‘Entitled’ Hip-Hop journalists criticizing his Bobbi Althoff interview

Drizzy Drake is well aware of the perception that he steers clear of Hip-Hop media at all costs.

In recent years, Drizzy has consistently engaged in conversations with streamers, content creators, and podcasters.

Traditional hip-hop media has been perceiving Drake differently since the Kendrick Lamar incident last year. The public backlash intensified after he filed his defamation lawsuit against UMG regarding "Not Like Us." Consequently, it appears that the Canadian rapper has avoided interviews with journalists or those recognized for credible storytelling.

One of Drake's actions that particularly upset the former was his initial interview with Bobbi Althoff. Veteran reporter Elliott Wilson was among the most vocal critics when it was broadcast in July 2023. "I didn’t appreciate the first Bobbi Althoff event. After seeing that, I publicly commented on it, followed by his interview with Lil Yachty. I remarked, 'I don’t like these interviews; it seems like he’s avoiding direct conversations and not engaging with the culture.'

Jemele Hill, a figure in sports journalism, also expressed her disappointment. She believed "it unfortunately highlights how genuine Hip-Hop journalism has almost disappeared." However, it seems Drake is indifferent to their opinions about him and Bobbi's viral conversation.

In a snippet from their recent interview captured by Karabo on X, Drizzy Drake shared his perspective on it and its revolutionary impact. “What we did, it changed a lot of things for a lot of people,” Drake said of the impact of their first interview. “It was me essentially, like, just recognizing somebody that I never met in my life, that I fully believed in, that I thought was really interesting, and that I wanted to have an interesting conversation with.

“It pissed off, like, so many, all these f**king losers, these, like, storied journalists, like, this guy and that guy who feel so entitled to this interview, and, ‘Drake never does anything for this type of media,’ and it just made people so angry, that two people who…maybe have nothing to talk about, or everything to talk about, but just based on random energy, could come together.

“I think it changed a lot of things. It changed a lot of things on TikTok, things in the streaming world, made people more comfortable to go sit down with somebody they’ve never sat down with before.” While he went on to say he didn’t want to “take too much credit,” he names Nicki Minaj streaming with Kai Cenat in December 2023 as an example of his influence over current artist and streamer/influencer relationships.

“The goal is not to be some unattainable di*khead for your whole life, you know? And only sit with Zane Lowe while he asks you the most curated and formal questions, no disrespect to him, but I think we did something that was special.”

Life thrives where land meets ocean — tiny crabs scuttle through tide pools, seabirds dive for fish, and shells collect along the shore as nature’s keepsakes. On Beach detail tells a story of survival, adaptation, and the interconnectedness of all living things. Watching the small dramas unfold in the sand — a wave swallowing a shell, a gull chasing a crab — you realize the beach is more than a place; it’s a living ecosystem. Every grain of sand has been part of mountains, rivers, and time itself, shaped endlessly by nature’s hand.

Long before civilizations rose and fell, nature stood as the original timekeeper. To travel the times through nature is to witness eternity in motion. The Grand Canyon, ancient forests, coral reefs, and glaciers are all records of Earth’s past—etched in stone, soil, and ice. Standing before them reminds us that we are mere moments in an infinite timeline. Watching a sunrise over mountains that have existed for millions of years humbles the spirit, offering a rare glimpse of time in its purest, most enduring form.
