Today, Sept. 14, marks the birthday of the greatest lyricists in Hip-Hop history, Nas.

Happy 49 Birthday To The Queensbridge Legend NAS

Today marks the 49th birthday of one of hip-hop's most treasured lyricists, Nas.

By many, Nasir Jones is number one on their top, 10, 5, and 3 lists of the greatest emcees to ever touch the mic in Hip-Hop history. Marbled as the prodigal, deep, and lyrically intellectual spitter, Nas’ coming into Hip-Hop owned multidimensional potency. Not only was he a dexterous battle rapper, but the Queensbridge emcee was also gifted with a melodic touch for wax.

From his Illmatic beginnings to his current sequel to his almost 26-year-old classic debut album, Doe or Die, AZ has been part of numerous hip hop classics with the memories to prove it.

Starting his career at the age of 17 with his legendary appearance on the Main Source's "Live At The BBQ," Nas has been one of hip-hop's most celebrated mainstays, releasing 10 solo studio albums, the most recent of which King's Disease/King's Disease II and Magic.

After more than two decades and 14 albums Nas has won his first Grammy on March 14, 2021. He secured the Best Rap Album award for his 2020 masterpiece, King’s Disease. The project was a full-on collaborative effort with Hit-Boy.

As of today Nas is looking to make it back-to-back victories in the Best Rap Album.

Happy Birthday, Nas!
