Jeezy accuses estranged wife Jeannie Mai of acting as ‘gatekeeper’ of their 1-year-old baby girl, Monace.
In response Jeannie Mai claims Jeezy “cheated” in following divorce petition
Jeezy is now accusing his estranged wife of acting as a “gatekeeper” and hindering his access to their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco.
Nearly three months have passed since Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai, shocking fans with the abrupt end to their two-year marriage. Now, the legal battle has taken a new turn, with Jeezy seeking the court’s intervention to address what he perceives as custody interference on Jeannie’s part.
According to court documents, the Atlanta rap legend filed a motion requesting a temporary hearing regarding custody of the 1-year-old, whom they welcomed in January 2022.
In the docs, Jeezy — born Jay Wayne Jenkins — claimed that since he filed for divorce on Sept. 14, the toddler has been “temporarily residing” in the estranged couple’s Los Angeles home with Mai.
“Since that time, the parties have endeavored to address temporary custodial arrangements on an informal basis,” the docs read.
“While the parties have agreed upon a visitation schedule through the end of 2023, which has been confirmed via communications between their counsel, to continue addressing custodial and parenting time issues in such an ad hoc manner is becoming increasingly less feasible.”
Play/Pause VideoMute/Unmute Video Jeezy claimed in the motion that the “lack of consistency, continuity and stability inherently associated with such a haphazard and fluid parenting time schedule” is becoming “stressful” for Monaco.
According to Jay 'Jeezy' Jenkins, alleged that their current custody arrangement is creating “unnecessary tension and confusion” when it comes to their parenting time and each of their sole rights when Monaco is in their individual care.
Jeezy stated in the docs that, although he does not believe the former “Real” co-host, 44, is “acting maliciously,” she has “acted as a gatekeeper” when it comes to exercising parenting time with the toddler.
“[Mai’s] interference with [Jeezy’s] relationship with the Child, again, while not generated from or with malicious intent, is nevertheless, causing confusion and tension between the parties and is working to stifle the development of Petitioner’s relationship with the Child,” the documents stated.
Jeannie Mai has finally filed a response to Jeezy’s divorce petition — and she’s insinuating he cheated on her.
The former “The Real” co-host implied that her estranged husband had been unfaithful in court documents obtained by TMZ Friday (December 1), in which she also noted that his alleged infidelity could affect their prenuptial agreement and result in a hefty pay day for the “Soul Survivor” rapper.
Mai’s lawyer asked the court to enforce a paragraph in the prenup “regarding infidelity” that states that if “either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party,” then it “shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party.”
Additionally, “forms of electronic communications, including but not limited to texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or direct messages,” per the outlet.
However, Mai, 44, declined to share any more details — such as who Jeezy, 46, allegedly cheated with — “in the hope this matter can be resolved without having to disclose such conduct publicly.”
