Meek Mill reportedly leaves JAY-Z's Roc Nation Management

Meek Mill has departed Roc Nation management after ten years.

Meek Mill to part ways with Roc Nation management

Meek Mill has split from Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management which has overseen the Philadelphia rapper’s career since 2012, Billboard reports on Monday.

The news arrives 10 years after Meek signed a management deal with Roc Nation. Back in 2019, they joined forces for a joint venture deal for Meek’s Dreamchasers label. That same year, the Philly rapper teamed up with Jay-Z to launch Reform Alliance, a non-profit organization focused on reforming parole and probation policies.

Earlier this year, Meek expressed his frustration with Roc Nation and his label, Atlantic Records, for not promoting his latest album, Expensive Pain, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

“They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions. How would can anybody survive that … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies ‘I don’t,’” he wrote, adding that the label tarnished his relationship with Roddy Ricch. “I made Atlantic records 100’s of millions and let them r*pe me out Roddy a artist they came to me about in jail… Roddy my youngin still …. But that label separated us instantly when the millions came in from him.”

Representatives for Meek and Roc Nation have not commented on the news.
