Havoc of Mobb Deep Is Still Collecting Money From 2002 Classic ‘8 MILE’ film

According to HipHopDX Mobb Deep‘s Havoc has admitted that he's still getting a bag “till this day” off 8 Mile.


2002's 8 Mile the life of Detroit rapper B-Rabbit (played by Eminem) as he fought his way through trials and tribulations to get his big break. The movie was loosely based on Em's life and has become one of the most successful rap films of all time.


Legendary Queensbridge MC, Havoc. said he was “taken back” when he first saw the iconic scene of Em’s B-Rabbit character freestyling over Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones” instrumental.


“I mean I was really taken back because I didn’t even know if Eminem was a fan,” Havoc told Hiphopdx on the BET Hip Hop Awards red carpet. “So to hear that, I found out he was a fan and then the cha-ching sound went off in my head. It bought this Fendi sweater.”


The movie was a huge box office smash, based on Em's life, and has become one of the most successful rap films of all time.


8 Mile is a film that roots for the underdogs and leaves behind dozens of quotables. The star-studded cast included Em, Mekhi Phifer, Kim Basinger, Taryn Manning and the late Brittany Murphy. Proof, Eminem's real-life best friend who was murdered in 2006, was portrayed by Phifer's "Truth" character and was even cast as Lil Tic' in the movie.
