Nas made history at the Hip Hop Museum’s 2025 Black Tie Gala by raising $2 million to support the establishment of a permanent home for Hip Hop in NYC

The Queensbridge rap legend and his label, Mass Appeal, announced a $1 million contribution to the Hip-Hop Museum at its 2025 gala.

Nas donated $2 million to the Hip Hop Museum, with a significant portion coming from his own pledge of $1 million at the 2025 Black Tie Gala.

Nas donated $1 million to the Hip-Hop Museum on Wednesday (October 15) and, along with Resorts World Casino, is aiding in the creation of up to 100,000 jobs through the museum's development.

During the museum's 2025 Black Tie Benefit Gala held at Cipriani Wall Street located in Lower Manhattan, Nas, in collaboration with Resorts World Casino, discussed the creation of up to 100,000 jobs through the museum's development. This figure represents potential new employment opportunities, not a personal contribution of that number of jobs.

The target of 100,000 jobs is an objective for the broader development initiative known as Bronx Point, where the museum is situated. This figure is not solely attributed to Nas's donation but is part of the entire project's development plan.

Nas donation, matched by Resorts World NYC, enabled the gala to achieve its fundraising target for the museum, planned to open in the Bronx in fall 2026.

In 2023, Nas and his partners established the Paid in Full Foundation to offer financial aid and healthcare to hip-hop pioneers who were not adequately compensated for their cultural impact. The foundation has provided substantial financial assistance to individuals such as Rakim and Scarface.

The foundation also introduced the yearly Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards, directing all proceeds to support the foundation's programs.

In 2020, Nas contributed more than $100,000 to the Koru program, which assists college graduates in securing employment.

In 2013, he invested in Proven, a startup that developed a mobile app designed to assist individuals in searching and applying for jobs.
