Listen to “Hood Blues” below.

“Hood Blues” was released on Tuesday. The track begins with a flurry of sound effects and signature ad-libs. As Westside Gunn delivers Griselda’s known “Booms,” X follows up with his iconic gravels and growls. This set the stage as X enters Griselda’s world of grime and arts to create a bridge between one of the forefathers of street rap as we know it and what the feeling has morphed into today.

“Hood Blues” is the first single off DMX’s posthumous album, “Exodus 1:7”

DMX's posthumous album Exodus, which arrives this Friday. (May 28)

On Monday, May 24 Swizz Beatz took to his IG to share the official trailer for Exodus.

The producer shared an epic trailer for the project. "Let’s get it started !!!!" captions Swizzy in a message destined to spark nostalgia. "4 days till EXODUS @dmx 5/28!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s take it back to the motherf****** Streets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RR 4 Life!!!!!"

The trailer compiles footage of what’s to come from the album. It shows X’s performances, his prayers, the infamous Ruff Ryder bikes, protests, and more. If “the revolution will be televised” was a trailer, it would be Exodus.
