“If I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now,” she wrote on Twitter.
Nicki Minaj had COVID-19 but still won’t get vaccinated until she’s done "more research"
The hip-hop superstar took to Twitter Monday, (September 13) to share with fans that she won’t be attending this year’s Met Gala in New York City, explaining that she got COVID-19 while prepping for her scheduled performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met,” Nicki wrote. “It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now.”
“I was prepping for vmas then i shot a video & guess who got COVID,” Nicki said. “Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama? ‘get vaccinated’ Drake had just told me he got covid [with] THE VACCINE tho so chile.”
Nicki said a friend of her cousin in Trinidad had his fiancée call off their wedding when he allegedly became impotent after getting the shot.
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen,” she wrote. “His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”
She explained that she wasn't willing to risk the safety of her newborn son for the 'Gram.
In response to speculation that she'd pulled out of appearing at this year's Met Gala, Minaj said she contracted the disease after the show prep as well as shooting a music video: "Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama?"
