This year’s BET Awards were brought to an emotional climax on Sunday night as the show memorialized rapper DMX, who passed away in April 9 of this year after suffering a heart attack.
During Sunday's show, BET honored the late rapper with a special tribute performance.
Earl "DMX" Simmons was celebrated with a performance curated by longtime friend and producer Swizz Beatz and Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Griselda and more joined together on stage as they performed some of the rapper's biggest hits, including "Party Up (Up in Here)," "Ruff Ryders' Anthem," and "Get at Me Dog." Actor Michael K. Williams also made a special appearance during the number as he paid tribute to the late rapper.
