Snoop will allow the marathon to continue.
Snoop Dogg To Honor Nipsey Hussle In A New Song
Snoop Dogg wanted to do something special for his good friend, the late Nipsey Hussle. Snoop is dropping another track dedicated to Nipsey Hussle Tha Great! The track is titled “Nipsey Blue,” set to drop August 14, one day before what would have been Nip’s 35th birthday. The tribute samples blues and gospel singer Dorthy Moore’s 1976, “Misty Blue.”
Last year, Snoop dropped the song “One Blood, One Cuz,” off his 17th studio album, I Wanna Thank Me. Notable lyric:
“For God so loved the world he gave us a good Crip / The late great Neighborhood Nip,” he rapped. “I swear to God nephew, you was the truth.”
Nipsey was gunned down on March 31, 2019. His alleged killer is Eric Holder. Prosecutors say Holder shot Hussle in the head and torso outside Nip’s Marathon Clothing store in California. Eric was indicted by a grand jury on May 9, 2019, on one count of murder, two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. His trial date was set for March but was pushed back due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the stay at home order at the time.
In the latest update, last month, LA Times reported a judge ruled that Holder’s transcripts from the grand jury hearing should be released and that unsealing the documents won’t jeopardize his right to a fair trial. The transcripts give more details about the case.
