Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Records unveils cannabis brand.
Snoop Dogg Announces New Marijuana Brand “Death Row Cannabis”
Snoop Dogg is entering the legal marijuana industry under Death Row Records.
After acquiring Death Row Records from “MNRK Music Group,” back in February, Snoop Dogg now expands on the cultural platform covering music, fashion, and entertainment to include cannabis.
The rap-mogul label, which Snoop has been steadily working to revive after becoming its new owner earlier this year, announced on Thursday (December 29) the launch of its very own weed brand, Death Row Cannabis.
The news was unveiled via a brief animated video shared on Death Row Records & Death Row Cannabis newest Instagram page, which gave fans their first glimpse at the company’s logo and upcoming product line.
In addition to Snoop’s Death Row Cannabis, A 22-second teaser also featured music by long-time Snoop Dogg collaborator and fellow West Coast Hip Hop veteran DJ Battlecat, while promising the company’s products are “coming soon.”
“Promising to return Death Row to its former glory, all elements of the former label are being refitted for today’s audience and their evolving tastes,” Death Row Cannabis writes in a press release.
The first drop will include limited-edition metallic bags featuring a revised Death Row logo with the prisoner pictured with one hand broken free “smoking a fat doobie.” Aside from Snoop Dogg, other prominent figures involved with the brand include West Coast legacy cultivator AK, who’s behind SMKRS, the VP of Cultivation for TRP LLC, and a majority owner of Cookies stores across the nation.
Death Row Cannabis is set to launch in January next year. Cookies California stores are set to carry the brand first before it expands to other locations and states.
