Love him or hate him, Samuels was a polarizing figure on social media. Since his untimely passing last week, many people have expressed their opinions about the late relationship expert. However, Antjuan Samuels “isn't having it” comes to the defense of his cousin.


On Friday (May 6), Antjuan Samuels hopped on his Facebook Live to address critics who have commented that Kevin Samuels was “toxic for the black community” tons of critics stated that he did nothing but bashed black women and wasn’t doing good in the community.


Controversial YouTube figure Kevin Samuels has reportedly died, causing a wave of reaction on social media.


News first broke that the self-proclaimed image consultant had passed away at the reported age of 56 late Thursday night (May 5). According to an NBC News report published on Friday (May 6), Samuels' mother and cousin confirmed the reports of his passing, which she said she first heard about online. News of the death has gone viral on social media and even caused reaction from some members of the hip-hop community.

Kevin Samuels gained notoriety in the last few years for his unapologetic consulting videos on YouTube that many people deemed as attacks on Black women. He would regularly admonish women who would come on his channel, which has over 1.4 million subscribers, for their lifestyle choices, which would frequently cause outrage online.


Throughout Samuels career, the relationship guru has faced scrutiny for his divisive takes on dating, relationships, and gender roles. His critics often described his content as toxic, misogynistic, and classist. In one clip from this year, he said that any woman who was still single in their mid-30s was considered “a leftover” and would be less desirable to men.


“If you have made it to 35 and you are unmarried, you are a leftover woman. You are what is left,” he said. “Men know that there is likely something wrong with you. Whether you want to hear it or not, I’m going to go there with you. I’m telling you the truth that you don’t want to hear.”
