Tory Lanez Officially Pleads Not Guilty to Charges in Megan Thee Stallion Shooting
Tory Lanez pleaded not guilty On Wednesday (November 18th), allegedly to using a semiautomatic firearm to shoot and wound “Savage” rapper Megan Thee Stallion during an incident in July.
According to Daily News Tory's lawyer Shawn Holley appeared on his behalf in L.A. County court to enter the plea in the case. After a Los Angeles judge previously ordered Lanez to stay 100 yards away from Megan and surrender any firearms.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was charged last month with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
The 28-year-old “Say It” rapper faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison if convicted as charged.
Peterson maintained his innocence, tweeting shortly after he was charged, "[Time] will [Tell] ... and the truth will come to the light ... I have all faith in God to show that ... love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart ... a charge is not a conviction. If you have supported me or meg thru this, I genuinely appreciate u."
Tory's already posted $190,000 bond and been ordered to stay away from Megan ... and he's defended himself on social media by saying the charges are not a conviction.
