YG's virulent anti-Trump anthem "FDT," featuring the late Nipsey Hussle, saw huge spikes in both sales and streams. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data via Billboard, the single saw a massive increase in sales and streams on the day of the election. The track reportedly experienced a 221% jump in sales compared to the day before the polls closed. Streams increased from 240,000 to 1,050,000, a 338% climb.
In 2016, L.A. rappers YG and Nipsey Hussle released “FDT,” an anti-Trump anthem that fit the moment then–and, based on how often Americans have listened to the song this week, feels equally timely for many now.
