Beyoncé and Jay-Z paid $200 Million for the Malibu property

Carter’s couple are now the owners of California's most expensive house ever sold.

On Friday (May 19), TMZ reported, that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have purchased a 30,000-square foot home in Malibu for a record-breaking price tag of $200 million. Apparently that’s the biggest real estate transaction in California history, smashing the previous record of $177 million. It’s also the second most expensive home real estate deal in US history — behind only a $238 million transaction for a property in New York City.

Designed by Japanese master Tadao Ando, the construction makes extensive use of concrete.

One contractor, Beeson Pervious Concrete, worked on the home's 22,500-square-feet of polished pervious concrete used in its driveway, motor court and parking areas. The contractor's website published photos of the hardscape that illustrate the home's strikingly modern design.

Then there was another concrete contractor just for the house itself. Morley Construction's website shows photos of the home's exterior, which took 7,645 cubic yards of concrete to erect.

The home was owned and built by soap opera super producer William Bell, known as one of the world's most prolific art collectors.

You can see photos of the property below.
