'Beyoncé Bowl' Ravens-Texans Christmas halftime show wins Emmy Award
Beyoncé can now include Emmy Award winner on her expanding list of achievements.
On Tuesday, August 12, the Television Academy announced that Beyoncé, 43, received a Primetime Emmy as a costume designer in the Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming category for the outfits created for Netflix's Christmas Game Day halftime show — also known as the Beyoncé Bowl.
Dubbed the "Beyoncé Bowl," the performance occurred during halftime of the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game on Christmas in the pop star's hometown of Houston. Beyoncé performed tracks from her country album, "Cowboy Carter," and shared the stage with her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
According to CNN, more than 27 million people watched Beyoncé's show on Netflix. The Christmas doubleheader became the two most-streamed games in NFL history.
Costume designer Shiona Turini, along with assistant costume designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, costume supervisor Chelsea Staebell, and head of workroom Timothy White, were also awarded an Emmy for their contributions to the Beyoncé Bowl costumes, according to Deadline.
The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled for Sept. 14.
