The government intends to suggest a two-year prison sentence; however, the ultimate decision lies with the judge.

Boosie BadAzz states that he accepts his guilty plea and is prepared to move forward.
Torrence 'Boosie Badazz' Hatch Jr. is set to be sentenced later this year on November 21.
The Baton Rouge legend was in court on Tuesday (August 26). His sentencing is set for November 21. According to his plea deal, the prosecution is recommending a 24-month prison term, but the final decision rests with the judge. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years.
"I'm ready to get it over with, get it behind me, get on with my life," Boosie stated in an interview with CBS 8 following the conclusion of the hearing.
"A lot of things this case has stopped me from doing, traveling all across the world, I just wanna get it over with. Accept my guilty plea, ready to get it over with," he said.
In May 2023, Boosie Badazz was arrested after being spotted with a gun on Instagram while in San Diego. The police tracked his vehicle using a helicopter, conducted a traffic stop, and discovered two guns inside, leading to his arrest.
Boosie was initially charged at the state level for the incident. He intended to plead guilty, anticipating a probation sentence. However, the case was dismissed before a plea deal could be finalized, and federal prosecutors took over the case.
Subsequently, there was another development. Last year, the case was dismissed following an appeals court decision stating that it was unconstitutional to prohibit convicted felons, who had completed sentences for nonviolent drug offenses, from possessing firearms.
Believing it had been dismissed, Boosie exited the courthouse in tears and shared his feelings with Courthouse News.
"This situation made me see who was down with me and who wasn’t," he said. "Ninety percent of people thought I was going to prison, but God had a different plan."
That dismissal, however, wasn't the end of the story. Federal prosecutors re-filed the case, and a larger panel of the appeals court overturned its initial ruling. At that point, Boosie decided to plead out.
"JUST ACCEPTED A PLEA FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON MY GUN CASE," he wrote on X earlier this month. "I THOUGHT THIS CASE WAS OVER N I WAS GOING TO GET ON WITH MY LIFE BUT 'GOD DONT MAKE MISTAKES' N IM TIRED OF FIGHTING."
"TALKED TO MY FAMILY N THIS IS THE RIGHT DECISION," he continued. "TO ALL MY FANS ACROSS THE WORLD SAY A PRAYER FOR YA BOY N GO GET THE NEW ALBUM #wordsofarealone."
