Candace Parker makes history as the first WNBA player on the cover of NBA 2K22

Candace Parker becomes the first woman to grace the cover of NBA2K.

WNBA's Candace Parker of Chicago Sky to be first female basketball player on cover of #NBA2K22

This marks the first time in history that a WNBA star will be featured on the cover. Parker, a former two-time WNBA Most Valuable Player and six-time All-Star, had this to say of the honor:

When it was announced on Wednesday that Parker will be on the cover of NBA 2K22, Shaquille O’Neal let out tears of joy.

Parker is joined as a cover athlete by the Luka Doncic of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks. The 22-year-old is on the standard edition.

The 75th anniversary edition features "three legends of their era" in the Brooklyn Nets' Kevin Durant and retired stars Dirk Nowitzki and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Nowitzki and Doncic are the first Mavericks to be on the cover of the game.

A video of Shaq crying was released by ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq.’ It was pretty cool to see O’Neal get emotional over this announcement.

The WNBA 25th Anniversary Special Edition—will be available only in the United States and Canada, and it will have Chicago Sky forward and two-time WNBA MVP Candace Parker on the cover.
