Combs lawyer, Mark Geragos, states that Diddy would support Trump if he were pardoned

Sean “Diddy” Combs might publicly support President Donald Trump if he receives a presidential pardon, according to his longtime attorney Mark Geragos in a recent interview. TMZ reported the news on Sunday (August 10).

On the 2 Angry Men podcast, Geragos was questioned about whether Combs might back Trump in return for clemency. Geragos, who has been Combs' representative for many years, mentioned that such a political change could occur swiftly. He noted that this potential decision would be driven by personal ties rather than political alignment.

"You want to know the truth? I think yes," Geragos said. "There's something about the fraternity of people who have been accused, that have gone through the process, that gives you an affinity. It would not surprise me to hear Sean say, 'I now get it. I understand it. I was wrong then.' I don't know that I would say he's pledging allegiance. But I think he would say, 'I get what he went through.'"

Diddy’s camp has reportedly been pushing for a pardon from President Trump, who has not closed the door on the idea of giving clemency to the Bad Boy Entertainment founder, who was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution at trial in July.

Geragos noted that Combs and Trump have a shared experience in dealing with high-profile legal confrontations with federal prosecutors. Both individuals have been subject to criminal charges they consider to be unfairly pursued. Geragos stated that his years of defending clients have demonstrated that these types of cases often foster a connection among defendants.

Combs is awaiting sentencing for charges related to prostitution after being cleared of racketeering and sex trafficking. Geragos mentioned that a pardon from Trump could understandably align Combs with the former president. He described this possible alliance as stemming from mutual dissatisfaction with the justice system rather than political affiliation.

When questioned about whether there had been talks on how Combs might address Trump if pardoned, Geragos did not provide a straightforward response. However, his expressions suggested unspoken possibilities.
