Sean Diddy Combs has served 13 months for violating the Mann Act.

President Donald Trump is reportedly contemplating commuting Diddy's sentence. According to TMZ on Monday (October 20), a senior White House official informed the outlet that the president might reduce Diddy's 50-month prison sentence as soon as this week.

The source mentions that Trump is reportedly “vacillating” on the decision. Although some White House staff are advising against it, the insider remarks, “Trump will do what he wants.”

As previously stated, Diddy has served 13 months for breaching the Mann Act and might be released in approximately two years without credit; however, a commutation would completely override this.

Following Diddy's sentencing earlier this month, TMZ reported that his legal team allegedly reached out to a senior White House official close to Trump to explore the possibility of a commutation or pardon. A few days later, Trump publicly confirmed that he was aware of the request.

"I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons," Trump stated on October 6. "I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon."

Diddy had previously supported Joe Biden in his 2020 campaign.

Earlier today, the 55-year-old founder of Bad Boy Records formally submitted an appeal in Manhattan federal court to contest both the decision and his prison sentence. You can read more about that here.

Unless President Trump intervenes or Diddy's conviction is altered, the mogul will undergo five years of supervised release following incarceration. This includes mandatory drug, alcohol, and mental health treatment, participation in a domestic violence intervention program, unrestricted searches based on reasonable suspicion, and a prohibition on firearm possession, among other conditions.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Trump commuting the sentence of former Congressman George Santos last Friday (Oct. 18). Santos was serving an 87-month sentence for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
