Jackie Chan jokes he and Chris Tucker will be “100 Years Old” making ‘Rush Hour 4’
Jackie Chan is ready for a new ‘Rush Hour’; he just needs the director and writer on board.
The legendary actor and martial artist Jackie Chan participated in a BuzzFeed video interview ahead of the release of “Karate Kid: Legends” and was asked to rank the “Rush Hour”
The Rush Hour franchise began in 1998, with its sequel and third installment releasing in 2001 and 2007, respectively.
During an interview for Hollywood Reporter, Chan said. “I don't know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the writer,” Chan said when asked about RH4. “Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and me [will be] 100 years old. We'll be old men doing 'Rush Hour.'”
But Chan confirmed that he wants to be in the film, adding that the “script is still going on.”
Chan also spoke about the Rush Hour series around the 7-minute mark of his first “Puppy Interview” with BuzzFeed, saying that it cost “too much money" to film RH3.
The film grossed over $258 million globally with a $140 million budget. Altogether, the trilogy has amassed $850 million worldwide.
In 2017, Chan said he and Tucker had finally agreed on a script for Rush Hour 4. The pair previously starred together in director Brett Ratner’s Rush Hour (1998), Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Rush Hour 3 (2007).
Additionally, Chan said “I want to do” a followup to Shanghai Noon (2000) and Shanghai Knights (2003), which will be titled Shanghai Dawn. “The script is still going on,” he said.
