Jada Pinkett Smith is currently promoting her new book ‘Worthy,’ and she recently revealed that her and Will were separated even before the fallout from that Oscar slap.
Jada Pinkett Smith reveals Chris Rock asked her out on a Date
Pinkett claims when divorce rumors circulated about her and Will Smith, Pinkett Smith said, the comedian asked her out on a date.
“I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out,’” Pinkett Smith recalled to People. “And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No, Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that.” (A representative for Rock did not respond to People’s request for comment.)
“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce,” Jada said. “We will work through whatever. And I just haven’t been able to break that promise.” On Wednesday’s Today Show, the 52-year-old star said she and Smith have no plans to legally divorce.

Additionally, Pinkett Smith, who is releasing a tell-all memoir titled “Worthy” on Oct. 17, and her family never indicated their was any trouble in their marriage.
