Jay-Z shared his appreciation for Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime show, commending his inspiring contributions to Puerto Rico.

It's confirmed: Bad Bunny is set to headline the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny mentioned in a statement regarding the news. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

Jay-Z serves as the live music entertainment strategist, responsible for the final selection of the headlining artist annually. This collaboration has reshaped the show's musical direction since 2020 and has persisted through multiple Super Bowls.

This marks the second occasion that the Puerto Rican megastar will appear on the Super Bowl halftime show stage, having previously been a guest performer during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s set in 2020. The artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has experienced another phenomenal year: After releasing his sixth solo album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, in January — which topped the Billboard 200, becoming his fourth No. 1 on the chart, and saw all 17 of its songs enter the Billboard Hot 100, giving him over 100 Hot 100 hits in his career — he embarked on an ambitious and highly successful 30-date residency in Puerto Rico, which was so significant that it boosted the island’s economy and drew numerous high-profile guests.

Bad Bunny is set to appear a year after Kendrick Lamar headlined last February, during the peak of the rapper’s feud with Drake. Before Lamar, Usher (2024), Rihanna (2023), Dr. Dre and friends (2022), The Weeknd (2021), and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira (2020) headlined the show since Jay-Z’s Roc Nation began booking the event through a deal with the NFL in 2019. Lamar’s halftime show performance set a record as the most-watched of all time, with 133.5 million viewers, reportedly attracting a larger audience than the game itself.

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” Jay-Z mentioned in a statement. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Bad Bunny's career achievements are indisputable: four No. 1 albums, 113 Hot 100 hits (including 15 top 10s), three Grammys, one No. 1 single, and a remarkable array of firsts and records in both Spanish-language music and overall. He has collaborated with artists like Cardi B, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, Ricky Martin, and J Balvin, among others, and has made several acting appearances, including in Happy Gilmore 2 and Caught Stealing in recent months. He is widely recognized as a leading figure in bringing Spanish-language music to a mainstream audience in the United States and will now be showcasing this on the world's biggest stage.

“Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene,” Jon Barker, senior vice president of global event production for the NFL, stated. “As one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl halftime stage. We know his dynamic performances, creative vision and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment.”

The Super Bowl will air live on NBC on February 8, marking the seventh year Roc Nation has programmed the halftime show. Roc Nation is executive producing the event with Jesse Collins, with production by DPS and direction by Hamish Hamilton. Additionally, Roc Nation serves as the strategic entertainment advisor for the show. This year also marks the fourth year Apple Music will be the presenting sponsor, having first assumed the role in 2023 for Rihanna’s performance in Phoenix.

“The halftime show is the ultimate celebration of music and culture, and few artists embody that intersection more perfectly and authentically than Bad Bunny,” Oliver Schusser, Apple's VP of Music, Sports, and Beats, mentioned in a statement. “At Apple Music, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Bad Bunny over the years and watching his meteoric rise into one of the most influential artists of our time has been truly incredible. His music has not only broken records but has elevated Latin music to the center of pop culture and we are thrilled to once again partner with the NFL and Roc Nation to deliver this historic performance to millions of fans worldwide. We know this show will be unforgettable.”
