Jermaine Dupri aspires to produce an album for Chris Brown that reaches the level of Michael Jackson’s “THRILLER,” but he is concerned about how Usher might react

The founder of “So So Def” thinks he could create an all-time great album with Chris Brown, but he's concerned about Usher's reaction.

Jermaine Dupri thinks he has the potential to create an album on par with Thriller alongside Chris Brown, but he is concerned it might upset Usher.

The legendary producer discussed the potential of creating a Michael Jackson-caliber album on the Joe Budden Podcast when questioned about collaborating in the studio with CB.

“It’s dangerous at this point. I don’t go in the studio thinking about let me hold this, one or keep this,” Dupri said.

“I might fuck around and go to the studio with CB and make a Thriller, proposed Dupri. “Usher would hate me for the rest of my life.”

The founder of So So Def didn't specify, but it's likely he thinks Usher might resent him because Dupri played a key role in producing Usher's Thriller-level album, the 2004 14-times-Platinum hit Confessions.

Despite that, Dupri emphasized his desire to collaborate with Chris Brown once more.

“I would love to work with Chris Brown. I have worked with Chris Brown before,” said Dupri. “You ain’t gotta tell me what’s gonna happen. I know what’s gonna happen.”

The debate over whether Chris Brown or Usher is the better musician, dancer, and entertainer has been a heated topic lately. In April, fellow R&B legend Bobby Brown shared his opinion on which of the two is more similar to Michael Jackson.

“I would go with Chris Brown,” the singer said. “Chris Brown is a dancer, singer, and great entertainer. He goes out there and he does the ultimate stuff on stage.”

“Usher is also a great entertainer, but I’ve gotta go with Chris for being as close to Michael as anybody could ever get,” added Bobby, confidently.

Chris Brown has openly expressed his admiration for Michael Jackson, frequently mentioning him as a significant influence on his music and performances. According to MJVibe, he has also honored Jackson in his music videos and live performances.

Nonetheless, Brown has consistently rejected comparisons that equate him with Jackson. He has stated that he wouldn't be creating music if Jackson hadn't set the path, describing Jackson as "light years ahead" and emphasizing that there is no competition with him.
