As both rappers get ready to release new albums at the same time, old tensions have reignited. After weeks of rumors about escalating drama behind the scenes. Kanye West seems set to face-off against Drake in a battle of first-week sales, releasing DONDA on the very same day as Certified Lover Boy.
A mysterious video aired on SportsCenter indicates that the long-waited LP could drop next month.
Drizzy revealed on Friday morning, the release date for his long-awaited new album, Certified Lover Boy, on ESPN’s flagship program SportsCenter August 27th.
A representative for Drake did not confirm the release date for the album. Rolling Stone reports.
Kanye's pre-order first went live on Friday listing a release date of Aug. 13. However, as of now, Apple Music is now showing Donda with a release date of Sept. 3. “Ye” Immediately shifted back to that same date as Drake. And many fans have realized that Kanye is willing to fight against Drake on the same day, much like he did over a decade ago with 50 Cent.
Donda was originally set to drop in July 2020 before being pushed a year. The release of the new record has since been bumped week-to-week throughout August, with a drop date currently set for September.
