Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl Halftime performance has been nominated for four Emmy Awards

Kendrick Lamar is nominated for Outstanding Music Direction and Outstanding Variety Special (Live). He shares the latter nomination with executive producers Jay-Z and Dave Free, among others.

The 2025 Emmy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday.
The nominees for the 2025 Emmy Awards were announced today. Among the notable music figures to score nominations are Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kamasi Washington, Caroline Shaw, Hamilton Leithauser, Mark Ronson, Hans Zimmer, Devo co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh, and the Roots’ Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson. According to reports, the Compton rap star has received four nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards. The nominations include Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, and Outstanding Choreography (Variety/Reality). This is the second time Lamar has been nominated for an Emmy for his Super Bowl performance, with his previous nomination being in 2022.
Kamasi Washington, Nathan Fielder, Caroline Shaw, the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser, and others also received nominations. See the list of 2025 Emmys here.
The 2025 Emmys will be given out on September 14 at LA’s Peacock Theater with host Nate Bargatze. They’ll air live on CBS and stream via Paramount+.
