LeBron James exits Lakers' game with right ankle injury

LeBron James has exited the game and will not return after a "right ankle injury," the Lakers have said.

Lakers' LeBron James Ruled out vs. Hawks After Suffering Ankle Injury

Injuries continue to pile up for the Los Angeles Lakers, with LeBron James being the latest member of the defending NBA champions to go down.

James suffered a right ankle injury during the second quarter of Saturday's game (March 20) against the Atlanta Hawks and was quickly ruled out. While he initially stayed in the game after limping to the bench, James pulled himself one possession later and was visibly frustrated as he left the floor.

The four-time MVP did try to come back to play, but the Lakers had to take a timeout as he was clearly in discomfort.

He is likely done for the night as he exited the game with 10 points and four assists.

The Lakers can ill afford another injury to one of their core players, as they are already without starters Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol. They get the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
