Lil Tunechi gifts his chain to a disabled fan in a touching encounter following Chicago concert
Lil Wayne fulfilled a dream for a devoted fan who had been waiting 17 years to meet her favorite rapper.
Following his “Tha Carter VI Tour” performance at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre near Chicago last Sunday (Aug. 24), Tunechi met backstage with Sade Stephens, a woman whose life was profoundly impacted after experiencing cardiac arrest as a teenager.
As reported exclusively by TMZ Hip Hop on Monday (Aug. 25), Stephens had always dreamed of watching the New Orleans icon perform live. In 2008, she was set to attend his “I Am Music Tour” when she collapsed while roller skating, resulting in her becoming non-verbal and reliant on a wheelchair.
Now in her 30s, Stephens finally experienced her moment. Her mother, Andrea Carson, collaborated behind the scenes with Young Money President Mack Maine to arrange the unexpected meet-and-greet. The two exchanged photos, smiles, and a significant moment where Lil Wayne removed the cross chain he wore on stage and placed it around Stephens’ neck.
Carson said it was one of the greatest days of her daughter’s life.

The Grammy Award winner is currently touring to promote Tha Carter VI. The album includes contributions from Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Wyclef Jean, Kodak Black, 2 Chainz, and even his sons, Kam and Lil Novi.
Although the tour has mostly proceeded without issues, Lil Wayne had to call off his Toronto show on Aug. 11 because of an "unexpected illness." As per the venue, a new date will be scheduled, and all tickets will remain valid. The tour concludes on Oct. 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
