Mack Maine speaks after getting criticism for Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter VI’

Young Money president hopped on X Thursday (formerly Twitter), seemingly wanting nothing to do with the criticism that Lil Wayne is currently receiving, and made it clear he’s no longer working on the “YM music division”, saying he's been working solely on the “sports division side,” which is Young Money APAA Sports. “PS send me some ranked players in,” Mack tweeted.

Not only has Mack Maine just recently revealed that he is strictly working on sports via Twitter X.

Cortez Bryant is also no longer working with Lil Wayne on the music side. While he was previously a key figure in Lil Wayne's career, including managing him under Young Money Entertainment, he is now involved with other ventures, including managing Lil Nas X and spearheading BPG Ventures, a brand partnership arm of The Blueprint Group.

Tha Carter VIwas a highly anticipated album from Lil Wayne; its release has been met with mixed to negative reactions from fans and critics. Many listeners have expressed disappointment, citing issues with the album's production, cohesiveness, and overall quality.

Mack Maine’s tweet comes after Pitchfork just recently rated Carter VI the lowest score the publication has given to any Lil Wayne album and the second lowest score for any album released this year.

Many reviewers are citing Tha Carter VI as his worst album to date. Critics have highlighted issues with the production, lyrics, and the overall sound, which many feel lacks innovation and feels like a rehash of past sounds. Some have even suggested that Lil Wayne should retire across all social media.

In addition to Mack Maine's YM sports, He helped establish the sports agency. After joining Lil Wayne's management team in 2014, Mack Maine helped bring Young Money APAA Sports to the table.

Mack Maine is involved in representing athletes: The agency, Young Money APAA Sports, represents athletes and has negotiated contracts exceeding a billion dollars. They also help athletes build their brand and engage in philanthropic endeavors.
