Memphis Bleek hints at Potential New Music from Jay-Z: ‘Save Me a Verse’

Jay-Z hasn't released new music since his solo album "4:44" in 2017 and his collaborative album with Beyoncé, "Everything Is Love," in 2018.

Is Hip Hop expecting a new Jay-Z album in 2025? As per Memphis Bleek, his big homie is “working” on new tracks, and he hopes to contribute a verse.

Memphis Bleek mentions that Jay-Z is creating new music on Drink Champs.

During his recent interview on Drink Champs with hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Bleek talked about the new music. If accurate, this potential album would be Jay's first release since 2017's 4:44.

This currently represents the longest gap between albums in Hov's discography. Jay-Z's last collaboration was on 2022's Pusha T track "Neck & Wrist," produced by Pharrell Williams. Push and his brother No Malice invited Jigga to feature on their reunion album, Let God Sort Em Out, with open verses on all album cuts. However, Hov didn't collaborate on the album as the duo had hoped.

“I just was with him in Vegas … He just came out on the show, like, yo, my n***a, they went stupid,” At the 41-minute mark in the video mentioned, Bleek likely referred to Hov's performance at Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour finale, where Destiny’s Child also unexpectedly appeared.

“I said, ‘Listen, I know you working. Save me a verse.’ He’s like, ‘Alright, I got you.’ So if it happens, it happens,” he added.

In 2017, he collaborated with his wife Beyoncé on their joint album Everything Is Love and went on their On The Run II Tour together the next year.

Fans of the Carters have much to anticipate, with Beyoncé's rumored Act III rock album expected in 2026 (the concluding part of the trilogy that started with 2022's Renaissance and followed by last year's Cowboy Carter) and Jay-Z's thirteenth studio album likely on the way soon.

Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek have been friends since their time in the Marcy Projects, where Bleek lived in Apt. 3D, and Jay-Z, along with his family, resided on the floor above. As a child, Bleek was babysat by Jay. In the mid-'90s, after signing with Roc-A-Fella Records, Bleek became Hov's protege.

Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek have teamed up on several notable classics, such as "Is That Yo Chick," "My Mind Right," and "Money, Cash, Hoes." Before his initial retirement, Jay-Z gave Memphis Bleek a track on his 2005 album, 534, titled "Dear Summer."
