Happy 27th Anniversary to the Queensbridge native debut album Illmatic.

Nas’ Debut Album ‘Illmatic’ Turns 27
On Monday, (April 19) Nas’ The New York legend 1994 debut solo album is still very much considered to be one of the all-time classic works of hip-hop.
Twenty-seven years ago today, Nas released the album that future generations will likely use to measure Rap greatness. At the age of 20, Nasir Jones delivered Illmatic, a 10-track coming of age reflection that pulled images from Rotten Apple-era New York City, emphasized dreams of being a Rap king, and properly introduced one of the coolest characters ever to grip a microphone.
Nas recorded the album at Chung King Studios, D&D Recording, Battery Studios, and Unique Recording Studios in New York City. Produced by DJ Premier, Large Professor, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, L.E.S., and Nas himself.
