OutKast has officially been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, making history as one of the few Southern rap acts to achieve the honor.

The Atlanta-bred hip-hop duo, made up of André 3000 and Big Boi, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this fall. Known for pushing the boundaries of hip-hop with their bold style and innovative sound, the group earned the honor as first-time nominees.

Formed in the early 90s, OutKast quickly became pioneers of Southern hip-hop, earning six Grammy Awards and leaving a lasting impact on the music industry. Hits like “Hey Ya!” and “Ms. Jackson” helped shape a new era of genre-bending music that continues to inspire artists today.

On Sunday (April 27), the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame officially announced this year’s inductees: Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes will join the class of 2025 in the performer category.

The full induction ceremony airs live Nov. 8 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Disney+ and arrives on Hulu the next day. A condensed version will air on ABC at a yet-to-be-announced date.
