The Clueless 55-year-old actor claimed to have discovered heartbreaking news on Wednesday (August 31). In a tear-filled TikTok video, which she later posted to Instagram, Dash condemned the disease of addiction.
“I didn’t know DMX died,” Stacey said. “I didn’t know, from a cocaine overdose. I am today, six years and one month clean, and it breaks my heart. It breaks my heart that he lost to it. He lost to that demon of addiction. Please. Please, don’t lose.”

But according to Stacey Dash, she recently found out about X's death on TikTok and is just now beginning her grieving process. “I was strolling through #tiktok and found a #DMX song that has saved me many times,” Stacey captioned the video. “Suddenly it says #RIP i know I am late, i did not know he passed away, he #OD I am heartbroken - he was such a great guy.”

DMX died at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York in April 2021 after suffering a reported drug overdose and subsequent heart attack. According to a statement from the Simmons family, the Ruff Ryders legend passed away less than 24 hours after his brain activity test results indicated there’d been no improvement in the six days, he’d been on life support.
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. DMX was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him.
“Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle, and the man the world knew as DMX.”
The White Plains Hospital staff added: “Earl Simmons passed away peacefully with family present after suffering a catastrophic cardiac arrest.”
