Rihanna becomes the first Black woman to establish two brands, Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, each worth over a billion dollars

The pop star and beauty business mogul Rihanna becomes the first Black woman to establish two brands, each valued at over a billion dollars.

Rihanna makes history as the first black woman with two billion-dollar brands

Rihanna’s net worth exceeds $3 billion, largely due to her investment in the Savage X Fenty lingerie brand, which was valued at more than $3 billion in 2022. Additionally, she co-owns Fenty Beauty, a cosmetics brand with LVMH, valued at over $2.8 billion. Her wealth is derived from various business ventures that have revolutionized the beauty and lingerie sectors with their inclusive and diverse strategies.

Forbes reported that the lingerie brand was valued at more than $3 billion when it was allegedly contemplating an IPO in 2022. The cosmetics brand, a partnership with LVMH, is estimated to be worth over $2.8 billion.

Rihanna's wealth is largely due to her ownership stakes in these brands, which have become industry leaders by emphasizing inclusivity and representation for all skin tones and body types.

Riri's achievements have made her a trailblazer, as the first Black woman to establish two billion-dollar companies.

FENTY breakdown

In 2025, Fenty Beauty's valuation is estimated to range from $1 billion to $2 billion, based on October 2025 reports, as LVMH, its co-owner, considers selling its 50% stake. Earlier in the year, different sources provided varying estimates: one suggested an annual revenue of $580 million and a valuation of $2.8 billion, while another predicted 2025 revenue at $600 million and a valuation of $3 billion.

By late October 2025, reports indicated that LVMH is contemplating selling its 50% share in Fenty Beauty, with the brand valued between $1 billion and $2 billion in this scenario.

Before the late-October reports, earlier 2025 estimates offered different numbers:

  • Some reports projected an annual revenue of $580 million and a valuation of $2.8 billion, highlighting the brand's success and continued market leadership.

  • Another source estimated the 2025 revenue at $600 million with a valuation of about $3 billion.

The valuation figures are affected by the brand's financial performance, with reports indicating around $450 million in net sales for 2024.

Additional brand context: Comparatively, other celebrity brands are achieving notable valuations. For instance, Rare Beauty was valued at $2 billion in 2024, and Rhode was acquired by Elf Beauty for $1 billion.
