Skip Bayless explains why the feud between Lil Wayne and Mark Cuban started.
Skip Bayless says Lil Wayne and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban feud started back in “2011”
“Undisputed” host Skip Bayless gave co-host Shannon Sharpe inside information feud between Weezy and Mark Cuban.
Lil Wayne, who sat courtside on Sunday in Phoenix for the Suns’ Game 7 blowout cheering for his friend Chris Paul had previously called out Mavs star Luka Doncic and Mark Cuban trolled the rapper by using his “Uproar” lyric against him.
Chris Paul and Wayne have been friends for 17 years after meeting at the 2005 Final Four in St. Louis., the two hit it off and quickly exchanged phone numbers. The fact that the New Orleans Hornets selected CP3 in the 2005 NBA Draft only helped things as Wayne’s hometown is New Orleans.
Ever since then, Weezy has been showing up to Paul’s games whenever he got the chance. Even when Chris was on the Los Angeles Clippers, he would show his support from the front row.
In recent news, the feud between Lil Wayne and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban seem to be embroiled in some sort of beef right now. It all stems from Wayne sent out a tweet about Luka Doncic during Game 4 calling Luka a "ho"
Cuban responded by referencing a lyric from Tha Carter V cut “Uproar.” after Dallas embarrassed Phoenix in Game 7:
“It’s a shit show, put you front row,” Cuban captioned a pic of Wayne courtside in Phoenix.
Wayne lashed out again tells Cuban on Twitter in a post the rapper deleted shortly afterward. "Mark Cuban don't make me get u smacked boy," Tune typed in the since-deleted post. "U playin [with] me?? I will piss in ya fkn mouth ho."
During today's episode of FS1's 'Undisputed,' Skip Bayless delivered some interesting information about the beef. Skip has a friendly relationship with Wayne, and last night, they spoke at length about the origins of the beef.
Basically, this all stems from back in 2011 when Wayne was living in Miami and used to go to Heat games. When the Mavericks beat the Heat in the Finals, Wayne accepted Cuban's invite to celebrate with the Mavs. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade did not like this, and it led to Wayne getting banned from Heat games for a while. This led to a rift between Wayne and Cuban, however, they still did their best to remain friendly to one another.
Fast-forward to just a couple of days ago, Cuban offered Wayne to go to a few Western Conference Finals games as a way to settle the beef. Wayne was in the midst of contemplating if he should or not when he was ultimately hit with Cuban's tweet. As Bayless revealed, the part that really upset Wayne was the fact that his son was in the picture and the artist didn't like the implication. Even today, Wayne said he was simply too angry to speak on the issue on the air.
