The legendary Atlanta rapper has cut his locs and teased new music.
T.I., aka TIP, seemingly announces on Saturday (Jan. 17) his return after stepping out of rap retirement.
T.I. has made a comeback to rap following a two-year hiatus. In October 2024, he announced his retirement from performing, stating that he no longer needed the money and was not interested in “hopping around and sweating” for entertainment anymore.
He shared unexpected news on his Instagram page, marking his return to Hip-hop with a surprise that features the original look from TIP’s prime days. He captioned the post with “He’s Baaaaaaack!!!!!!” and included the hashtag #LetEmKnow
The Atlanta rap legend earned the title “King of the South” by pioneering trap music, achieving major commercial success with several #1 albums and Grammy wins, and greatly impacting Southern hip-hop and culture through his unique storytelling and enduring career. He is renowned for albums like Trap Muzik and King, hits such as “What You Know,” and his contribution to making Atlanta a hip-hop center.
