Four years ago, The late California rapper, who was shot and killed outside of his Marathon Clothing store in hometown Los Angeles, was loved by many.
On Monday, Aug. 15 — which would've been the late rapper's 38th birthday — Last August, Nipsey Hussle was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, presented at a ceremony attended by his family, longtime partner Lauren London and fellow rappers YG and Roddy Ricch.
Hussle was a West Coast legend who initially achieved acclaim based on numerous mixtapes he released. His debut studio album, Victory Lap, came out in 2018 and was nominated for the Best Rap Album in 2019. Hussle went on to win two posthumous Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap/Sung Performance categories in 2020.
The late rapper had a groundbreaking mixtape run early on in his career that included the sales of the limited edition physical copies of Crenshaw and Mailbox Money at $100 and $1000 per copy, respectively.
