The initial trailer for Spike Lee's latest film, "Highest 2 Lowest," has been released on Monday (August 4), The crime movie features A$AP Rocky, Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Ice Spice. Check out the trailer below.
"Highest 2 Lowest" is a reimagining of Akira Kurosawa's classic "High and Low." Lee's version features a ransom plot set in the music industry, unfolding on the streets of New York and in an apartment inspired by Kurosawa's original setting. A teaser was released in May before the film's recent debut at Cannes. The movie, produced by A24 and Apple Original Productions, marks the feature debut of screenwriter Alan Fox.
Denzel Washington's collaboration with director Spike Lee began in the 1990s with "Mo’ Better Blues." They continued their partnership with iconic films like "Malcolm X," "He Got Game," and "Inside Man." After a 19-year hiatus, they have teamed up again for the kidnapping thriller "Highest 2 Lowest," which will be released in theaters on August 15 and will be available on Apple TV+ starting September 5.
