Jeezy says therapy could not save his marriage to Jeannie Mai: ‘I can only do what I can do’

Jeezy admitted that no amount of work on his marriage with Jeannie Mai was going to save them from divorce.


“This has not been an easy journey,” the “Soul Survivor” rapper said in an interview with Nia Long released Tuesday, (November 7).


After telling the “Are We There Yet?” actress that he attempted to go to therapy to fix his marital woes, Jeezy told Long that he realized he can “only be responsible for [himself].”


“I can tell you that I’m saddened. I can tell you I’m disappointed. I can tell you that I’m uneasy,” Jeezy (Jay Wayne Jenkins) shared.


“I can only do what I can do. I can’t expect someone else to do what I’m doing.”


Taking a more spiritual tone, Jeezy, 46, said that he believes “God has put [him] on a different path” than the one he was on with his estranged wife.


“And that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself. And love myself.”
