In recent years, Young Thug has expressed that successful rappers such as Jay-Z should share their knowledge on achieving long-term success. “I expect Jay-Z to tell me how to become a billionaire,” Young Thug said.

He recently mentioned Kendrick Lamar, stating, “You really trying to keep all the blessings to yourself,” suggesting that Lamar should start helping other rappers by collaborating on their tracks.

In a newly leaked jail phone call, Young Thug criticized Kendrick Lamar for allegedly refusing to collaborate with him and other rappers. Thug framed Lamar's reluctance to collaborate as a selfish attempt to keep all the "blessings" to himself and suggested it would prevent him from becoming a bigger artist than Drake.

Thugga stated that he, Lil Durk, and Lil Baby were turned down for features by Kendrick Lamar. Thug was apparently looking for a collaboration for his 2023 album, Business Is Business.

Claim of selfishness: Thug voiced his irritation regarding what he perceived as Lamar's arrogance, implying that successful artists have a responsibility to "bless" other artists through collaboration.

Thug often compared Lamar to Drake, a regular collaborator, emphasizing Drake's apparent openness to working with other artists and aiding in their success. He also criticized Lamar's cousin, Baby Keem, suggesting that Lamar only works with him and that Keem is not a notable artist independently.

Young Thug expressed frustration to T.I. that Jay-Z not sharing his billionaire secrets is based on comments Thug made during a 2019 interview. However, his remarks were more of a lighthearted call-out than a genuine complaint to T.I. personally.

In the Interview, Thug was a guest on T.I.'s expediTIously podcast in September 2019. During the conversation, Thugger directly addressed Jay-Z's status as a billionaire and suggested that he should share his business methods with others.

Thug said that Jay-Z should "teach what's taught," implying that valuable knowledge should be passed down. He told T.I., "Make sure to tell me 'cause I'mma tell the world," in reference to how to achieve billionaire status.

Following the public discussion of his remarks, Young Thug later clarified that his comments were not meant to be taken as serious criticism of Jay-Z. He stated, "I was talking too fast" and that his words were not accurately conveyed.
