Young Thug proposes to his girlfriend Mariah the Scientist during his Atlanta show

Young Thug's proposal follows closely after Mariah recently expressed her desire to get married.

It looks like Mariah the Scientist's wish is coming true, as her longtime boyfriend Young Thug proposed to her during a show.

Young Thug proposes to Mariah the Scientist at benefit concert, she said “Yes”

During his Hometown Hero benefit concert in Atlanta on Tuesday night, the rapper proposed to Mariah the Scientist while onstage. He asked the question just as Mariah concluded her performance of a song. “Burning Blue,” Thug got down on one knee with a ring and the jumbo screen behind her read, “Will You Marry Me?,” as seen in videos taken by fans in the crowd. After the two musicians shared an embrace, Thug can be heard asking, “What you say, baby?” and Mariah responded with, “Put it on!”

Following the show, the newly-engaged couple displayed the large ring and posed for photos backstage.

Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist have had an on-and-off relationship since 2021. They stayed together during Young Thug’s two-year incarceration while he faced the YSL RICO criminal trial. In October, the rapper suggested a breakup with Mariah during a livestream with Adin Ross, mentioning he had been “broken up with.” However, the couple seems to have reconciled.

Last week, Mariah the Scientist offered some insight into their future. In an interview with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, Mariah discussed her personal wish to settle down. “I wanna be married,” she said. “That’s my plan. I want a baby. I just want at least one. I’ll start with that and see how I can manage.”
