50 Cent says he’d come out of retirement from rap to work on a song with Taylor Swift

His interest was sparked after Swift name-dropped him on her album, The Life of a Showgirl, on the track “Ruin the Friendship”

50Cent expressed that he would like to collaborate with Taylor Swift, stating he’d “come out of retirement” for a song if the right one came along.

During a recent interview with Extra TV, 50 Cent revealed the pop artist he has been eager to collaborate with, and it might surprise you: Taylor Swift. Although he is retired, 50 Cent expressed a strong desire to work with her. However, he acknowledges that the 35-year-old pop star has a very busy schedule. “You got to ask her because you know how big Taylor Swift is right now? She has to have a record that sounds like it might sound good with 50,” he told the outlet.

Swift, who recently released her latest album, The Life of A Showgirl, mentioned 50 Cent by name in the song, “Ruin the Friendship.” The track appears to be inspired by an unrequited relationship between friends in high school. “Wilted corsage dangles from my wrist/Over his shoulder, I catch a glimpse,” Swift sings. “And see (mm-mm), You lookin’ at me/And it was not, an invitation/ But as the 50 Cent song played (song played)/ Should’ve kissed you anyway (anyway).”

“It really is cool because when she makes the reference, it’s to what was going on in culture at that time. The music, you couldn’t miss it,” Fif told Extra. “What she was making reference to is the period that no one was more prominent in music at that point.”

Earlier this month, 50 Cent expressed self-praise on social media, stating, “@taylorswift sh*t is popping right now. She shout me out, she don’t shout you out. LOL. THIS IS FOR BIG TIMERS ONLY! I’m the only shout out on the whole album.” Fif also revealed that he’s a big fan of the singer’s fiancée, NFL star Travis Kelce. “I like her boyfriend, too. I like the team, I like KC,” he said. “I do [like them together]. I like it a lot better than the last thing he had going on. It’s a lot better.”
