Busta Rhymes to receive BMI Icon Award.
Busta Rhymes will be honored with an Icon Award at 2022 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards
Busta Rhymes is set to receive BMI’s top honor, the Icon Award, at the BMI R&B and Hip-Hop Awards, scheduled for Sept. 7 at the LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach.
BMI will officially honor the Bronx native with the BMI Icon Award for his iconic contributions to the entertainment industry across his long career. The private event will be hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative (Atlanta) Catherine Brewton.

Previous recipients of the Icon Award include Janet Jackson, Patti LaBelle, Nile Rodgers, Cash Money, Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, The Jacksons, and many others.
The BMI ceremony will also see the R'n'B/Hip-Hop Songwriter, Producer and Publisher of the Year named.
