Cardi B will be honored with the ASCAP Award “Voice of the Culture”

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will honor Cardi B with the distinguished ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award at a private ceremony in Los Angeles.

Cardi will be honored by ASCAP’ and receive the “Voice of the Culture Award.”
ASCAP announced on Wednesday (May 21), that that Bronx rapper will receive the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Voice of the Culture Award, recognizing her groundbreaking influence on music and culture.
“Cardi B has left an indelible mark on the culture of hip-hop by redefining and challenging the norms for women,” ASCAP Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams said in a statement. “Having broken through countless barriers with her unapologetic authenticity and talent, she continues to use her voice to advocate for and inspire others, a true testament to her undeniable impact. We are proud to present Cardi B with this year’s ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award.”
Cardi will receive the award at a private ceremony in Los Angeles on June 8.
“Being recognized for the impact my songs have had on the culture means everything to me,” Cardi B said in a statement. “I’ve always wanted my platform and my music to stay true to who I am and inspire others to do the same, so this honor is especially meaningful.”
Additionally, Cardi has won more than 30 ASCAP awards. The “Up” rapper has scored ASCAP honors for chart-toppers like “I Like It,” “Bodak Yellow,” “Finesse,” and “Girls Like You.” In 2020, she made history as the first woman to receive consecutive Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year Awards.
